Pricing · every number published

Every price, published.

Nobody should have to sit through a scoping call to find out whether they can afford you. Here is the whole ladder, in one table, with the price named before the conversation rather than after it.

In short

Product Pieces publishes every price. The Diagnostic is free and takes twenty minutes. Founder sessions are £150 an hour, or £750 to £1,000 a month. Nine fixed-scope Set Pieces run from £3,500 to £18,000, each with the price named upfront and mapped cleanly to a purchase order. Ongoing senior product leadership starts at £2,000 a month on a three-month minimum, and senior day rates are £950 to £2,000. Qualifying engagements can take up to forty per cent of fees as equity at your last priced round.

The whole ladder, in order.

Every engagement starts at the bottom and rises by commitment rather than by upsell. Most start at the Diagnostic, and a fair number end there, because the honest answer is sometimes that you do not need any of this yet.

Fixed means fixed

The price is named before the work starts and does not move unless the scope changes in writing. No surprise invoices, and nothing that needs a negotiation to become a purchase order.

Equity, where it fits

Up to forty per cent of fees as equity at your last priced round, on qualifying CPO, PM and Coaching engagements. The other sixty per cent is still cash. It is alignment, not a discount.

What is not in the price

Cloud, licences, research incentives, recruitment and paid media are yours and quoted separately. Build effort beyond a scoped piece is quoted through the Engineering Piece.

Senior day one

The person in the room is the person doing the work. No graduates learning on your time, and no junior hand-off after the pitch.

Free things that are actually free.

Three of these cost nothing and ask for nothing, which is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly. The Diagnostic is twenty minutes and can end with a recommendation to spend no money. Eleven tools run in the browser with no sign-up: runway, unit economics, tiered pricing, dilution, deck scoring and more. The Scope reads a build contract or statement of work for unclosed decisions and for deliverables that are outputs rather than evidence, and costs nothing either.

And The Read is sixty-three issues deep, free, and has never once been gated behind an email address.

How to choose the right rung.

  • You are building it yourself and stuck on a decision. A founder session, £150 for the hour, which you can book and pay for directly.
  • Somebody else is building it and you cannot tell if it is going well. The Build Assurance Review, from £6,000, two weeks, ending in a verdict a board can act on.
  • You have a quote in front of you and have not signed. The Scope first, free, then The Sanity Check at £3,500 if the numbers still worry you.
  • You know what you need and want it delivered to a fixed price. A Set Piece, £3,500 to £18,000, scoped and priced upfront.
  • The product decisions are weekly and nobody owns them. The Fractional CPO, from £2,000 a month, with the full cost comparison published.
— Common questions

Questions about the money.

How much does Product Pieces cost?

Every price is published. The Diagnostic is free and takes twenty minutes. Founder sessions are £150 an hour, or £750 to £1,000 a month for four sessions plus light asynchronous support. Fixed-scope Set Pieces run from £3,500 for The Sanity Check to £18,000 for The MVP, named upfront and mapped to a purchase order. Ongoing senior product leadership starts at £2,000 a month on a three-month minimum, and senior day rates are £950 to £2,000.

Why are the prices on the website?

Because the alternative is a scoping call whose real purpose is working out what you can afford. A fixed price named upfront means you can compare eleven options in one screen, take a number to a board, and raise a purchase order without a negotiation. It also means the work has to be worth the number rather than discover it.

Do you take equity instead of cash?

On qualifying CPO, PM and Coaching engagements, up to forty per cent of fees can be taken as equity at your last priced round. It is offered where cash is tight and the upside is real, and it is alignment rather than a discount: the remaining sixty per cent is still payable in cash.

What is not included in the price?

Third-party costs are never buried in a Set Piece price. Cloud, licences, research incentives, recruitment and paid media are yours, and quoted separately if Product Pieces arranges them. Engineering build effort beyond the scoped piece is quoted separately through the Engineering Piece. Nothing changes price mid-engagement without a written change to scope.

Is there a cheaper way to start?

Yes, and it is the recommended one. The Diagnostic costs nothing and takes twenty minutes. Eleven free tools run without a sign-up. The Scope reads a build contract for unclosed decisions at no cost. Most engagements should start at the bottom of that ladder rather than at a Set Piece.

Do prices change for larger companies?

No. The published price is the price. What changes with a larger organisation is the surrounding work, such as procurement, security review and governance, which is quoted separately when it is substantial rather than loaded silently onto the engagement.

Not sure which rung?

Twenty minutes, free, to work out which of these you actually need and which you do not. If the answer is none of them, you will be told that.
