Product Pieces shaped the roadmap and an initial go-to-market offering for a US equestrian startup with ambitions to dominate its market. We defined the wedge that generates the network effect their later propositions depend on. Delivered by our founder, a Toptal Top 3% product manager.
The brief.
A US equestrian startup had big ambitions: own the equestrian market across several propositions. But broad ambition needs a sharp first move. The ask was to shape a roadmap and define an initial go-to-market offering that would build the network effect everything else relied on.
The challenge.
Trying to launch the whole vision at once is how marketplaces stall — no single side has a reason to show up first. The work was choosing the wedge: the one offering that pulls a critical mass of users in, and sequencing the rest behind it so each new proposition compounds the network rather than competing for it.
What we delivered.
A shaped roadmap and a defined initial go-to-market offering. The wedge was built to generate early network effect, with the later propositions sequenced behind it to build on that base rather than fragment it.
The result.
The startup came away with a clear first move and a roadmap behind it — a go-to-market wedge designed to create the network effect their bigger ambitions need.
