Product Pieces ran discovery for a US solo founder's idea (an engaging rewards app aimed at children and their families), helping formulate the thinking and shaping it into an initial proposal they could work from. Delivered by our founder, a Toptal Top 3% product manager.
The brief.
A US solo founder had an idea worth pursuing: a rewards app that engages children and brings families together. What they didn't have was a structured way to turn the idea into something concrete. The ask was discovery: help formulate the thinking and shape it into an initial proposal.
The challenge.
Solo founders rarely lack ideas; they lack a sparring partner to pressure-test and structure them. The challenge was to take an early, personal idea, give it shape — the audience, the core experience, the reason it earns a place on a family's phone — without over-engineering before it was proven.
What we delivered.
A discovery engagement that helped the founder formulate their thoughts and shaped them into an initial proposal. It set out the audience, the core experience, and the shape of a first version, clearly enough to take forward.
The result.
The founder moved from a promising idea in their head to an initial proposal on paper. Structured, shaped, and ready to build on.
